The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cheese manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, food safety requirements, and employee safety expectations are achieved. This role provides leadership to production team members, drives operational efficiencies, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facilityFrom your EXPERTISE to oursKey responsibilities for this position include:Oversee daily cheese production activities to ensure production goals are met.Monitor production processes, product quality, and equipment performance.Assign and manage staff to support production needs.Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and waste.Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.Monitor products and processes to ensure quality specifications are met.Conduct routine inspections and support quality audits.Work with Quality Assurance to address and resolve quality concerns.Lead, train, and coach production team members.Provide performance feedback and support employee development.Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.Communicate daily goals, expectations, and company updates.Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety policies.Ensure employees follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.Participate in safety inspections and incident investigations.Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.Support waste reduction and process improvement initiatives.Partner with cross-functional teams to meet operational goals. Maintain accurate production records and reports.Track production, quality, efficiency, and safety metrics.Communicate shift results and operational updates to management.RequirementsFrom your STORY to oursQualified applicants will contribute the following:Education· Associate's or higher degree preferred.Experience4 to 6 years of supervisory experience preferred.Specialized KnowledgeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Basic math skills.Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.Knowledge of food processing practices; dairy industry experience is a plus.Skills / AbilitiesKnowledge of dairy production processes.Quality control and assurance.Technical and troubleshooting skills.Food safety and regulatory compliance.Process optimization and continuous improvement.Strong team leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Physical Requirements / Demands /ActivitiesAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift, carry, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.Manual dexterity required.Ability to work comfortably in a loud production environment.At Lactalis, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards Program with a variety of affordable benefits and coverage options.
