The 13 Pillars of Alon

Alon expresses the virtues of an oak tree, strength, stability,
and growth. By following the 13 pillars of Alon, one will be
able to embody the essence of growth, strength, and stability.
These serve as guidelines to maintain peace after becoming
whole by fortifying the mind, body, and soul.

Be Alone to be true

We must be alone in order to be true to ourselves and others. If one
cannot be alone, they cannot be honest, loyal, or anything because
they are willing to be anything in order to be surrounded by low
caliber company. “Only when you isolate something can it be
identified.” – Shai Alon. Find out who you are and change if you are
not yet who you want to be.

Always tell the truth

The only thing that a lie enables is the avoidance of growth. If you lie
it is because you are so insecure in regard to yourself that you run
away from the truth which will only ever be a burden until faced.
Nothing will ever be solved by lying to yourself or others and when
you do, you might find momentary peace but it is at the cost of the
integrity of your soul, the practice of healthy habits that enable
peace, as well as the worsening of the problem you think you
avoided but doesn’t go away.

Never take the easy way out, work hard.

Understand that hard work is where the value of the results we seek
is derived and in order to live a full life we must constantly work hard.
The silver lining is in the realization that just like all things, the more
we do it the easier it gets. You must be willing to do what you can
until you can’t, or what you can’t until you can. Life is more about
the journey than it is the destination and the greatness of a journey
is measured by the greatness of the trials endured to complete it.
NOTHING WORTH DOING IS EASY! The sooner you accept this
the sooner you will find yourself a life worth living.

Love yourself and become worthy of the
love you wish to receive

The greatest form of love is sacrifice. In order to love ourselves we
must sacrifice for ourselves. If we do not love the self, the self will
not love you. Love is a combination of letting go and holding tight,
both are hard to do but we must do it nonetheless. Sacrifice for you
and the universe will sacrifice for you right back. The easiest way to
receive love is to love yourself. When done correctly you will
automatically become so great that your presence adds to those
around you instead of subtracting as a product of becoming well
versed in the mind, body and soul.

Grow the self, know the self, show the self

There are three main reasons for why we are alive: to grow
ourselves and the world, to know ourselves and the world, and to
create ourselves and the world. All else falls under these categories.

Keep the mind open and keep the mind conscious,
learn everyday internally and externally

Keep the mind open. “The difference between a genius and an
imbecile is an open mind.” – Shai Alon. Aristotle said, “The more you
know, the more you don’t know.”. This expresses the need for one to
always keep an open mind to all possibilities for the more knowledge
one acquires the more possibilities there are for us to realize. Keep
the mind conscious. By constantly maintaining a state of awareness
we open ourselves to an infinite number of opportunities to grow
externally as well as internally. “The only thing that differentiates a
master and a novice is the complexity at which one understands the
basics.” – Shai Alon. By remaining as conscious as possible we are
able to understand the basics with complexity. Nothing is a waste of
time if you learn from it and since all things are interconnected you
can upgrade your skill in any realm from any of the tasks we do daily
just by consciously finding the correlation between that task and the
other.

Be humble, view yourself no greater
than any other and vise versa

This explanation is for those that think logically and need a logical
explanation as to why this is true. First, each and every one of us are
made up of the same components and have the same capacity to
make decisions as well as change themselves/the world. Even so,
50% of our lives are governed by our environment and 50% by our
choices. Understand not everyone was blessed enough to have
circumstances that enabled them to become strong. Two, in a world
of infinite possibilities there can always be a reality where someone
with less “competence” can make a certain decision that
conventionally would not be right but ends up reaping the greatest
benefits possible. Three, karma will cause the universe to treat you
as less than because that is how you treat the universe by thinking
you are better than others. Fourth, by thinking yourself better than
others you display utter weakness and insecurity by hiding from the
possibility that others can accomplish what you have and run away
from the responsibility of helping them do better by offering them the
help that they have yet to receive.

Give what you wish to receive

The most important law of this universe is the law of karma. In order
to change our circumstances we must first take responsibility for our
circumstances, and then change our actions to change our life. What
you give determines what you receive. It might not be instantaneous
but know that your actions are recorded by the universe and
returned to you respectively. If you want to receive the best you must
be willing to give the best.

Become so strong you can afford to be
kind, to yourself as well as those around
you.

All evil stems from weakness. In order to be strong one must be able
to eliminate weakness. But if one were to stop themselves from
being kind because it makes them vulnerable they are not strong
enough to be kind. That is the worst kind of weakness there is. Only
the strong are kind. This also carries into how we view others.
“Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to incompetence.” –
Robert J Hanlon. If you step on a snake and it bites you would you
be surprised? Probably not, it is in their nature. In the same vein,
sometimes people are snakes but it is only because the environment
they came from made them this way. In understanding this we know
that getting hurt by those that are hurt is not an excuse to hurt them
and will only hurt us further in the end. Instead show them the
kindness they were never shown so that they can witness its
superiority to hate. “A great man shows his greatness by the way he
treats little men.” Thomas Carlyle.

Abstain from excessive pleasures

“When a person can’t find a deep sense of meaning, they distract
themselves with pleasure” – Viktor Frankl. To rely on pleasure is the
antithesis of strength, stability and growth. This is because by
indulging in pleasure, you are affirming that you lack fullness by
going outside of yourself to feel good. The truth is you should
already feel good about yourself, and the best way to authentically
experience this is by making yourself great. On top of this, once a
person gets used to a certain pleasure it becomes a necessity to
them and for that they are punished with weakness. “With pleasure,
the reward is the punishment, with hard work, the punishment is the
reward.” – Shai Alon.

Life is built on duality

In this reality there are two main parts that comprise the whole. 50%
of reality is logical, this part is made up of the laws that govern reality
enabling order. The other 50% is illogical, this part is what enables
free will and circumstances independent of definitive order/meaning.
When mediating a situation it is common to be told that life is not that
black and white but it is, half of a situation is determined by right and
wrong, which does not change, and the other half is determined by
its circumstances which are never the same and must be analyzed
subjectively in order to properly apply the principles of right and
wrong. Just like the two hemispheres of the brain, everything is a
mixture of logic and emotion/the illogical.

Be grateful to be full of greatness

“For unto every man that hath, it shall be given, and he shall have
abundance, and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken
away.” – Matthew 25:29 Geneva Bible. This bible verse expresses the
importance of being grateful, for he who is grateful for what he has,
therefore viewing himself in abundance, abundance will be given, and he
who is ungrateful, views himself possessing lack, lack will be given to him.

Live life fully, it will end before you know it.

If in the greater dimensions, which must exist because energy
cannot be created or destroyed, there is no creation or destruction
that means that everything just is. This means that this form of
experiencing reality is far more valuable than we know. In a realm
that is just everything would be unified so what we forget when we
come here is literally everything. We come here to shroud ourselves
in sheer ignorance in order to have our own unique experience of
what it is like to find our way out of that ignorance ourselves instead
of existing with the knowledge of everything from the “beginning”.
Living in this life is the greatest form of play one can experience and
when we understand this life becomes a gift instead of a burden. In
order for this journey to have begun, it must also have a conclusion,
and that conclusion can come at any time. In order to make the most
of this gift we get to experience, live your life to the fullest. Give your
all to all that you do for we know not what tomorrow brings.
